Our History
Federal Polytechnic Nyak Shendam
Federal Polytechnic is located in Nyak Town in Shendam, its 13Km from the Shendam area council of Plateau State.
The Federal Polytechnic, Nyak Shedam was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in March 2021. The establishment of the Polytechnic was predicated on the Government’s desire to transform society technologically.
The school is a certificate awarding institution with 3 approved academic programmes :

ND Business Administration and Mangement
About Nyak Shendam
Nyak Town is located in Shendam, its 13KM away from the Shendam Local Government Area Council of Plateau State, Nigeria. Shendam is bordered by Ibi Taraba State to the south, Qua’an Pan to the east, Pankshin to the north, and Mikang to the west. Shendam town is the second most populous town in Plateau State, after Jos town at 8°53′00″N 9°32′00″E.
It has an area of 2,477 km2 and a population of 208,017 at the 2006 census.
The Philosophy of Federal Polytechnic Shendam
The philosophy of the proposed Federal Polytechnic Shendam is in line with the National Purpose for Polytechnic Education, Nigerian Philosophy of Education and the National Policy on Education. The philosophy of the Polytechnic will be pursued by the provision of courses of instruction, skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training.
The philosophy of Federal Polytechnic Shendam encapsulates the concept of character development and technological education and training. Thus, the Polytechnic shall provide high quality, student-centered learning opportunities focusing on good discipline, high moral standards, entrepreneurship education and training, vocational and professional skills development, good citizenship education, mutual respect and free exchange of positive and valuable ideas. Thus, the philosophy encapsulates the concept of the development of an individual into a sound and effective citizen with full integration into the society and community.
